In the CYC system, there is a spot for any child who desires to sing!
We truly believe in the importance of providing a quality vocal education for every child. Multitudes of studies show the positive impact group singing can have on an individual and we want everyone to have the opportunity to be part of CYC regardless of their ability level or zip code. CYC is an extension of its parent partner, Columbia Chorale, and is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, registered with the State of Missouri.
At CYC, there are no vocal auditions required. Students need only apply and they will be placed in one of our five choral ensembles.*
Location: All rehearsals take place at Columbia Independent School (1801 N. Stadium Blvd). Park in the Main Entrance parking lot located at the north side of the building. Enter through the main doors where you will be warmly greeted by our Choir Coordinator, Kara Smith. Rehearsals take place in Rooms 404 and 408 in the Fine Arts wing of the building.
Tuition: Keeping costs low is an important component of the CYC program. Our tuition is $75/year or $40/semester. Scholarship options are available upon request.
First Meeting: New and veteran singers and parents should plan to attend the Informational Session on Sunday, August 24 at Columbia Independent School. A brief presentation about the year will be made by Artistic Director, Emily Edgington Andrews, and Choir Coordinator, Kara Smith.
